Terms & Privacy Policy

This privacy policy outlines the types of personal information that is received, collected and/or recorded by Tiny.Kitchen and how it is used. I may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page occasionally to review any modifications.

This privacy policy is valid as of July 2023.

Tiny.Kitchen is a digital asset of Trynd LLC, an Oregon LLC. As the owner, I, Valerie Spencer, my company, and my digital assets (collectively known as”Trynd”), respect the privacy of my online visitors and recognize the importance of providing a secure environment for them. By using this website, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use my website. Your continued use of this will signify your acceptance of these policies.

Please note that when you click a link to other sites that navigate away from a Trynd website, this Privacy Policy does not apply to (and cannot control the activities on) those other sites. I recommend reading the privacy policy of third party websites before providing any information.

What personal information is collected?

Personal information collected may include your email address and/or name. I do not require this information to gain access to my website. However, you may not be able to receive materials such as newsletters or participate in leaving ratings or comments unless such information is provided.

If you are a visitor from outside the United States, the personal information you provide may be transferred to, stored, and processed within the United States, where Trynd maintains business operations.

How do I use your personal information?

The personal information you provide Trynd will allow me to communicate with you. If you are leaving a rating or comment, it allows me to confirm that you are a human being. If you are a subscriber to my mailing list, your personal information will allow me to email you new recipes, articles, features, or enhancements to the email address that you provide. Finally, if you are sending me an email directly, this information helps me handle your technical support questions or issues.

I will never use your personal information to send you any communication outside of the scope of your permission. I am not an asshole and I hate spam too.

  • When leaving a rating or comment: you will receive an email to confirm that your submission has been received and published. You may also receive a notification if I reply to your comment or question. Your email address will not be published on the site. Other readers can see your name, rating, and/or comments but cannot see your email address and cannot reply directly to you.
  • As a subscriber to our mailing list: you will receive scheduled issues of the newsletter along with relevant communication regarding your subscription. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at time by clicking here: https://kitchen.us16.list-manage.com/unsubscribe?u=7aeb3bb0aa0e32f9f295960d3&id=f4f36c191b which will take you the Unsubscribe Form hosted at my mailing list service, MailChimp.
With whom may your personal information be shared?

Ideally, no one. I will never sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties unless I am required by law to do so. When using this website, you may be asked to provide information by which you can be identified. Be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. Generally speaking, I go out of my way to turn off as much tracking software within my essential services that I can find to secure your privacy on your behalf.

I reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law or in special cases when I have reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against you if you may be causing injury to or interference (intentionally or unintentionally) with Trynd’s rights or property. I also reserve the right to disclose your personal information if I have a good faith belief that it is necessary to prevent fraud or other illegal activities.

As with any business, your personal information is an asset of Trynd and will become part of my normal business records. As such, I may disclose your personal information to a third party if I decide to sell this line of business to that third party. The intent would be so you can continue to receive service and information in connection with that line of business with as little disruption as possible. Similarly, in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other similar event, your personal information may be transferred to Trynd’s successor or assign. You will be made aware of any such transactions 30 days prior, at which point you can choose to have your personal information removed from my records.

What about children?

I do not knowingly collect or store any personally identifiable information from children under 13. If parents believe that I have unintentionally collected their child’s personal information, they may request the deletion of the information by contacting me at hello@tiny.kitchen.

Residual copies of content and/or information that have been deleted may remain on my backup servers. I are not required to remove posted content or information if it has been rendered anonymous or if I am required by law to retain it. Additionally, I do not have control over third parties (e.g., other users) who may have copied or re-posted the content or information.

What are tracking technologies and how are they used?

As is true with most websites, I gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include a unique identifier such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and non-personal information such as your browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. I may combine this automatically collected log information with other information I collect about you. I do this to improve the services I offer you, marketing, analytics, or website functionality.

Overall, cookies help websites provide you with better services. Cookies enable the ability to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie does not gives a website access to your computer. It does not give access to any information about you, other than the data you choose to share.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of this website.

Advertiser Cookies

I may use advertising service vendors to present advertisements on this website. These vendors may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on this and other sites you have visited. They may also be used to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before and to avoid sending you duplicate advertisements.

In doing so, these vendors may collect non-personal data such as your browser type, your operating system, websites visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, and other clickstream data. I do not have control over cookies placed by advertisers. The use of cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies by these advertising service vendors is subject to their own privacy policies and I disclaim all liability in connection therewith. When given the opportunity by advertising service vendors, I always select options that will anonymize your data as much as they permit.

I also go out of my way to carefully select advertisers and vendors that have services and products that I support and fully endorse. I am more interested in providing an enjoyable experience here at Tiny.Kitchen than I am in making change off of your impressions. If you appreciate that, then please consider making a direct donation so that I can continue to live, pay my bills, and hold this as my primary focus throughout the day.

How do I correct or delete my personal information?

If for any reason you are concerned with the way I am using your personal information, or would like to correct or request that I delete such personal information, please contact me by emailing hello@tiny.kitchen. In some cases, I may not be able to delete your personal information and need to retain and use that information as long as necessary to comply with my legal obligations, resolve disputes, and/or enforce my agreements.

The security of your personal information is important to me. Trynd has taken steps to ensure that all information collected will remain secure and in its original form, i.e. free from any alteration. As such, access to all personal information is strictly controlled. I use industry standard, SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption. I follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to me, both during transmission and once it is received.

Please be aware that I cannot control the activities of third parties to whom I provide data. While I cannot guarantee that they adhere to the same privacy and security procedures as Trynd, I will continue to take reasonable steps to assure that these third parties will provide sufficient protection of personal information.
